The stunning & unusual blue-brown and green with gold highlights on the handle and inner of rim, also a geometric flourish on the lip is a classic CHATSWORTH pattern featuring cartouches of deer, a cottage, windmills and a bird in flight - all on a background of bamboo and fronds. Also featured in the main cartouche is Chatsworth House which gave the pattern its name. Originally built in the 16th century it is today the magnitude residence of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. It was used in the movie ‘Pride and Prejudice’ as Pemberley, home to Mr Darcy, and it is thought that Jane Austen actually based Pemberley on Chatsworth House in her novel.
